![]() ![]() ![]() There is very little information about this helper app online but MacUpdater () states that 1.0 requires 10.15 which makes sense if it's 64 bit. Get Info states it is version 1.0 and is from IMSI. Looking at the DisplayPDF app in the Finder it has the circle/slash icon indicating it's not properly installed. Check with the developer to make sure DisplayPDF works with this version of macOS." Further down it states that this is "X86-64 Native" which I assume means it's 64 bit. When attempting to print, my relative is getting an error: "DisplayPDF cannot be opened because of a problem. Broderbund's website () states that it works with 10.13 and above. Broderbund has finally upgraded The Print Shop, replacing the MacKiev version with one comparable to Windows. Like many, she has been waiting for The Print Shop to be upgraded to a 64-bit app and has had to keep her computer on 10.14.x. I very much appreciate any insight anyone can offer.Ĭan't print with the brand new Broderbund Print Shop for macOS I'm asking here on behalf of a relative because Broderbund tech support has been unhelpful. Also, I've heard (anecdotally) that this will be a port of their Windows product, and it will therefore not have the look and feel of the original Mac version. ![]() I'm somewhat dubious of this, given Mackiev's track record with failing to produce a 64-bit app following the introduction of Catalina (over two years ago). From the sound of things, they haven't actually made this available, yet, however, but expect to in the near future.ĭoes anyone know anything about this? Is this for real? Is it a true 64-bit app that will run properly on Catalina forward? Perhaps most importantly, will it be backward-compatible with Print Shop projects created using previous version(s) of the product? Recently, I received an email from Mackiev stating that they were in the final stages of creating a "true 64-bit update, 4.1, of the Print Shop product" which would be "fully compatible with Catalina through Monterey". So I've been stuck on Mojave for over two years in order to run my existing copy of Print Shop for Mac.ĭuring that time, Mackiev (the developer) never created a 64-bit version it appeared that further development of the app had been abandoned. MacOS Catalina came out in October, 2019, and Print Shop for Mac 4.0 was incompatible with it because it was a 32-bit application (and Catalina forward didn't support 32-bit applications). ![]()
